Top 5 Body Scrubs

Exfoliation is really important because it helps to rejuvenate skin by removing dead cells, leaving your skin looking and feeling smooth. Almost everybody remembers to exfoliate there face at least once a week but what about your body?

Its really important to exfoliate your whole body for clearer, smoother, glowing skin, especially in the summer when you wanna walk around in that bikini on the beach. There are so many body scrubs on the market but unfortunately some can be rough on the skin or cause breakouts. So you have to be really careful when picking your scrub.

Here are some of my favorites that I would  recommend these to anyone. They are fab and inexpensive.

1. Soap & Glory – Smoothie Star: The Breakfast Scrub

Okay people this is my absolute favorite body scrub. It has a heavenly maple fragrance and contains organic cupuacu bio scrubs, banana, almond and honey extracts. The smell stays on your skin so you literally walk around smelling edible (in a good way) all day long. It has a really good consistency and you can feel and see the glow in your skin straight after the first use. Just fabulous!

2. Palmer’s Cocoa Body Scrub

Confession: I love cocoa butter you guys. I would buy anything with cocoa butter in it, lip balm, hand lotion, shampoo, conditioner YOU NAME IT! So body scrub would be no exception however i love this body scrub for other reasons. I’ve been using Palmer’s products since I was a kid and it is one of those brands that has been incredible for my skin for years. All their products smell good and do what they say on the packaging and this scrub did not disappoint. It also applies really well and has a good consistency that leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturized.

The Body Shop -Cocoa Butter Cream Body Scrub

As I mentioned above I love cocoa butter, I buy a lot of body shop products because they are natural and smell sooooo good. This body scrub containd REAL cocoa butter and does leave your skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

Side Note: The Body Shop’s Fair Trade cocoa butter comes from Kuapa Kokoo in Ghana. Cocoa pods are hand-harvested and the beans are extracted, sun-dried, ground and pressed into butter. With over 50,000 small-scale farmers, Kuapa Kokoo is one of the biggest fair trade co-ops in the world. Their trade has helped to fund education and medicine for members and their families.

4. Boots Extracts Exotic Brazil Nut Body Scrub

Have you ever felt like you may begin to practice some weird form of cannibalism on yourself? No? Well maybe that’s just me. This body scrub feels and smells like some sort of dessert. The best part is the smell stays on your body and lingers for hours. It’s important to note that this scrub is good for very light exfoliating. It’s not as grainy as the other scrubs and is more moisturizing than exfoliating. I still love it though. The next time you are in Boots (if you are in the UK or Ireland) go and get this stuff.

5.Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub

I got this when I was in Dublin and I love it. I love Lush because all their products are fresh and handmade. on their website they describe this scrub as ” an exfoliating shower scrub that can also be used to wash, volumise and add shine to hair. Packed with mineral-rich sea salt, Rub Rub Rub can be used as a gentle scrub on wet skin, or on dry skin for a really good buff before you get in the shower. Sea salt, a natural antiseptic as well as exfoliant, is combined with lots of lemon juice to leave your skin feeling rejuvenated and it also adds shine and volume to hair”. This is all true!

Something a little extra…

If you want to get creative and want to be 100% sure everything is organic you can make your own body scrub. Here’s one that I made,Lets call it…Julie’s Vanilla, Honey and Coconut Sugar Scrub.

  • Organic coconut Oil
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Honey
  • Brown Sugar

So there you have it, my favorite body scrubs. Let me know what body scrubs you are using in your comments, I’d love to hear from you. xoxo.Julie
